Rotifera XIII
INVITATION FOR ROTIFERA XIII (2012) at North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong (Meghalaya) INDIA
Well you are aware that we (myself and Dr. Ms. Sumita Sharma) have been working on Indian Rotifera since the last three decades. This is perhaps the longest period and enjoyable journey for anyone working with Rotifera in developing countries in particular. We are still actively engaged on Rotifera of N. E. India (taxonomy, ecology) w.s.r to floodplain lakes and Ramsar sites.
We certainly have a keen desire to host next Rotifera Symposium at NEHU, Shillong (popularly called Scotland of East). I am glad to state that my university of one of few Indian Universities recognized with "Potential for Excellence" in view of our academic contributions.
We are proud to excellent infra-structure, conference facilities and best accommodation facilities available at our campus at NEHU. I invite all the Rotiferologists to kindly visit our Univ. website at www.nehu.ac.in. I am presently also serving as Dean, School of Life Sciences.
We at NEHU shall be able to provide best possible facilties available in India and at economically reasonable rates. Shillong is capital of Meghalaya (literally termed as 'abode of clouds'). Shillong is excellently well connected by air with Delhi and Kolkata. The nearest airport at Guwahati and it is well connected with Shillong with tourists taxis.
Shillong has sub-tropical climate with lush green pine forests as well as beautiful exotic locations which I am sure our friends will never forget Cherrapunjee, the wettest place of Earth, is situated about 40 km from Shillong.
We invite all the Rotiferologists to visit the following sites for more beautiful and exciting details:
